Banjo Friday 6

This week I'd like to feature a clawhammer player from Toronto, Chris Coole. Chris got his start busking and has become one of the most well-respected players in the folk music community. He has cultivated a deliberately stripped-down style, which compliments rather than competes with other instruments. Perhaps that is why he is such a popular performer. He has worked with Arnie Naiman, Ivan Rosenberg, and David Francey, and performs with the bands The Foggy Hogtown Boys and The Lonesome Ace Stringband. Here is a video of Chris performing one of his own compositions, "Old Dog":

Chris is also an excellent banjo teacher. If you want to learn more about Chris Coole, here is a link to his website: https://chriscoole.com/home

Here, too, is a link to an interesting interview with Chris from the Deering Banjo website: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c2xrW2pvILg
